Creating sacred space
Through my experience of my home, I am able to experience my world.
I love feeling deeply rooted, but I also need to feel new. It’s the creative in me. I am the artist and my life is my art.
I need the freedom to say yes, to try new things, and to create new spaces in our home.
I like to move furniture around or paint a room.
Sometimes I simply hang a new picture.
I also like to add bits of inspiration by taping images or poems and spirit-lifting quotes to my walls.
I love having these little visual guide posts. When I walk past one of my walls and feel moved by a simple phrase placed there, I re-connect to myself and things I want to uphold.
Even a short reminder to savor each moment can shift my experience for the rest of the day.
The changes I make are often simple and understated, but even small shifts can make a big impact.
When we want to be present for our kids, we don’t always have the option to retreat to a room at the back of the house.
Sometimes we just have to claim the space we can, you know?
It just needs to be a space that, when you see it or are near it, your soul feels a little more nourished.
This is why I create small pockets throughout my home…to carve out space that is meaningful and sacred just for me, like my chair at the dining room table.
The bathroom becomes a sacred space when I take my baths.
A picture in the hallway from one our favorite vacations inspires me to take three deep breaths.
Doing these simple things in my home reconnects me to myself and my family.
I am reminded of the beauty that exists all around me every day.
And then, our home is not just a shelter for me and my family, but a sanctuary where I feel steady peace.
This is the art of Holding Home.

So excited to start this program. 💜💜💜
Holding Home is also a sacred space✨.
